What is it? Essentially it is an upgrade to our UTShare infrastructure (Arlington Data Center) Replacing antiquated hardware with new state of art equipment & supporting (non-PeopleSoft) software Upgrade will make it possible to adequately support the UTShare campuses and provide scalability Office of Financial Affairs
What’s in it for me? PeopleSoft System Performance increases Unscheduled outages should become a rarity Addresses capacity/storage issues Environment spawning will be a possibility Test Environments Upgrade Environments Training Environments Office of Financial Affairs
Anything else? Campuses will be able to leverage certain software Telerik Test Studio (PSSC) GoldenGate (OIT) We will finally have true Disaster Recovery Positions us to realistically address the 9.2 upgrade Office of Financial Affairs
What about the application? There will be NO changes to the functionality of PS. The PeopleSoft applications will just be copied over to the upgraded physical environments HCM suite however will need regression testing performed due to re-application of Tax Update 17A Office of Financial Affairs
What’s the impact then? The impact to you will be mostly transparent, but there will be… Internal interface connectivity changes External interface connectivity changes Check printing connectivity changes Connectivity changes regarding Cognos, SciQuest/Jaggaer, nVision, Hyperion, Portal links, Workflow email notifications, Shibboleth, Web/URL links…etc. UT SIS and the PSSC will test and validate identified connectivity points. What do I need to do? Shared.utsystem.edu domain name will be changed to utshare.utsystem.edu Identify/update URL/Domain names that may be imbedded. When does this happen? PSSC currently testing and validating campus touchpoints (March 20 – April 5) Currently, the plan is to have the last production image taken the evening of April 6 (Thursday), with NO PeopleSoft Access April 7-9 Campus updates (i.e. Domain Names, IP addresses…etc.) will be made the weekend of April 8-9 Tentative Go-Live April 10 Office of Financial Affairs
