Part B style Question “Muhammad should not have used violence to capture Makkah.” Do you agree? Give two reasons to support your opinion. Possible reasons to support the statement Killing is wrong so he should not have allowed it to happen He should have given the people the choice to be Muslim and not forced them. Possible reasons that disagree His mission was so important that it justified killing He had already given the people the choice and they drove him away.

Part C style questions Why are the 5 pillars of Islam important? (8) Possible answers They are the main elements of Islam. Shaddah -ensures all Muslims believe the same thing. Salah -prayer allows submission to God 5 times a day which is the aim of Islam Zakah –It is important to look after the poor and remember God’s gifts to us Sawm- Fasting allows closer relationship with Allah. Hajj- The pilgrimage allows the relationship with Allah to grow
