Legend or Key

The directions North, South, East, West

Cardinal Directions

Another name for a line of longitude.

Meridian

Relative size (i.e. distances on a map represent actual distances on the earth).

Scale

The directions Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast

Intermediate Directions

The distance north or south of the Equator, measured in degrees

Latitude

A half of the Earth
