eLearning within the traditional path Where did we begin? Utilizing Blackboard as our platform One teacher, one planning period eLearning committee Expanded course development through payment of teachers Stimulus funds 20+ eLearning courses eLearning Essentials – 8th grade

eLearning within the traditional path Rationale eLearning goal: For every student to have an eLearning experience in each subject area as part of their graduation requirement.

eLearning within the traditional path CASHS eLearning within the traditional path Course expectations? Teacher training – face to face and varied levels Consistent course development/framework Quality rubric Course approval program K-12 supervisor, eLearning committee, Director of Curriculum, Technology Director

eLearning within the traditional path Guiding expectations Guiding course development 60/40 blend Trainings for teachers Peer mentor (member of eLearning committee)

eLearning within the traditional path Where are we now? Offer blackboard training online Teacher’s own time and interest Course development Done during teacher’s personal or professional development time Still 60/40 model Consistent course framework, but no formal course approval “Payment” now comes through uses of the course (i.e. credit advancement, ease of use for sub plans, etc.)

eLearning within the traditional path Results Collaboration between students Students “speaking up” who normally wouldn’t Flexibility in schedule (i.e. access anytime, credit advancement opportunities, open campus) Ability to differentiate
