Do They Share Amazon states customer information is an important part of its business and “it is not in the business of selling it to others.” “Obviously this policy does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in violations of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Notice” Amazon shares customer information with subsidiaries it controls that are subject to this privacy notice OR with parties with privacy notices at least as protective as Amazon’s privacy notice.

Reasons For Sharing Amazon provides personal information to third parties that perform services on their behalf. They transfer personal information received under the Privacy Shield to a third party and their access, use, and disclosure of the personal data must also be in compliance with Amazon’s Privacy Shield obligations. Amazon also remains liable under the Privacy Shield for any failure to do so by the third party unless we prove we are not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
