The Call: Summer 2017 Faculty-Student Undergraduate Research Grant Application Proposed projects may involve a one-to-one student/faculty pair or multiple students collaborating with a faculty member. Eligible students include undergraduates who are not graduating seniors. There is a stipend of $2,000 available for each project and up to an additional $750 for materials. What does it mean to receive a stipend? You will receive support to successfully launch, implement, and assess your project by participating in professional development sessions including attending the annual Summer Teaching Showcase on June 8, 2017. You will also assist in gathering and sharing direct evidence of student learning gains in your supported project. Last, you will share the outcome of your project by completing a final report and making an on-campus presentation during the next academic year such as at Marking Excellence. Why is the Title III grant supporting undergraduate research? The focus of our Title III grant is enhancing student success and retention. There is significant research indicating that engagement in undergraduate research deepens faculty-student relationships and promotes critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and intellectual independence. All of these factors increase student success.
