Portal (n) A gate or entrance The old wardrobe in the attic was a portal to the magical world Narnia.

Porter (n) A person employed to carry luggage and other loads. George hated his job as a porter; he was constantly carrying heavy suitcases up and down the stairs.

Deport (v) To kick someone out of a country, typically for having committed a crime. Hopefully Justin Bieber gets deported back to Canada due to his reckless behavior.

Deportment (n) A person‘s behavior or manners. There are team rules in soccer governing player deportment on and off the field.

Import (v) To bring (goods or services) into a country from abroad for sale. United States imports cars from Italy, like Lamborghinis and Ferraris.

Rapport (n) A good understanding and communication between two people The teacher wanted to establish a good rapport with her students.

Portico (n) A porch or walkway with a roof supported by columns Jack’s entrance to his house had a beautiful portico decorated with vines and other intricate carvings.

Portfolio (n) Representation of a persons work. Carolyn worked on her art portfolio for Pratt all year.
