Prevention and Intervention Levels A – C (Grades Pre-K-1) Intervention Level D-H (Grades 2-6)
Supplemental and Intensive Intervention Supplemental Intervention: for students identified with math deficiencies and who have not responded to re-teaching efforts. Intensive Intervention: Effective for students with low skills and a sustained lack of adequate progress.
Prevention Levels A-C Intended to serve as prevention for later problems in mathematics. Pre K to Grade 1 Thoroughly tested, engaging activities to bring all students up to level and ready for elementary mathematics Activities target foundational understanding 30 weeks of daily lessons
Intervention Levels D-H For students who are1-2 years behind. Intended for Grade 2-6 Six units at each level. Four weeks for each unit. Activities target specific concepts and skills to build mathematics proficiency in: computing understand reasoning applying engaging

Using the Number Words Placement Tests Each level of Number Worlds contains a placement test to determine whether student understand the content in each level of the program. Every placement test assesses knowledge of two adjacent levels of Number Worlds so the teacher can observe and compare information about which level’s content s appropriate for each student.
Placement Test for Levels A-C Levels A-C are targeted for use by students in prekindergarten through Grade 1. Individually administered by a teacher, aide or parent helper. (Read to the student) Teachers instruction and reproducible test masters included. One assessment for each of the three levels Begin testing at level A and work up to C 75% or higher – continue to assess at next level Less than 75% - begin instruction at that level or drop down a level
Placement Test for Levels D-H Levels D-H are targeted for use by students in Grades 2-6. Administer in small groups administered by a teacher, aide or parent helper. The assessment consists of topic specific tests at two levels. The first page assesses knowledge of content in the previous level, and the second page assesses knowledge of the content covered at this level. If students do not successfully completed 75% of the items on the first page of the test, administer the Unit Placement Test for the previous level. If students demonstrate understanding of more than 75% of the items on the first page of the Unit Placement Test, have them complete the test. If students do not demonstrate understanding of move than 75% of the times on the second page of the test, but have demonstrated understand of the items on the first page, begin instruction in this level. If students demonstrate understand of more than 75% of the items on the second page of the test, administer the Unit Placement Test for the next level.
