Ceramics Beginners Program DIA WEEK WITHOUT WALLS Ceramics Beginners Program in collaboration with

Over the five days, participants will learn the ceramic making process, from preparing clay to glazing. Using a combination of hand building techniques the participants will be guided to make an object in clay based on the theme SPORTS. Day 1- 28 May 2017 Introduction + Tour Tour of Yadawei Ceramic Studio and introduction of Workshop leader Coil and Pinch Project Participants will learn to make functional objects using basic techniques: pinching and coil making.

Day 2 - 29 May 2017 Preparing Clay Slab Project How to prepare clay and start a project Slab Project How to make object using slab technique Drying process Understanding of the physical and chemical process clay goes through during drying and kiln firing. Attachment and combination Learning how to attach and combine pieces of clay.

Day 3 - 30 May 2017 Day 4 - 31 May 2017 Science of Kiln firing Learning the process of firing and kiln chemistry Slab project Learning how to make ceramic piece using slab technique Day 4 - 31 May 2017 Mixing clay Preparation of clay before using in hand building or wheel throwing projects Wheel demonstration Basic Wheel Throwing techniques demonstration

Activity details Activity cost is AED 1,500 per participant Ceramics Beginners Program will take place at Yadawei Ceramic Studio and Gallery, Warehouse 30, New Al Khail Road, Al Qouz, Dubai, UAE. The activity is run by professional trainers from Yadawei Ceramic Studio.
