Starting School

School uniform In school we wear our school uniform. Our school colours are black and yellow. We look smart  We change in to our gym shoes before we go into our classroom.

School bag We come to school with our school bag. We keep our pencil case and snack in our bag. We find our name and peg in the cloakroom. We put our bag on our peg in the cloakroom outside our classroom.

The P1 Classroom

The Playground In the playground we can play with our friends. There are staff from the school to help us too. We have some toys to play with or we might play games with our friends.

The Playground We are gentle and kind in the playground. We eat our snack in the playground. We put our litter in the bin.

P7 Buddies You have a P7 Buddy. Your buddy will help you settle in to Primary 1 and help you play games in the playground. They might also help you in the classroom.

The Dining Hall You have your lunch in the dining hall. Your teacher takes you to the dining hall. You get your lunch and then sit at a table with your friends. The ladies in the dining hall will help you.

Walking around the school When you walk around the school you walk in a straight line, one behind the other. You need to be quiet because the other classes are working. You always walk in the school.

A Day in Primary 1 The bell will ring and your teacher will take you in to class. All the boys and girls sit on the carpet. The teacher will do a register to see who is in class. Everyone will order a lunch or say they have a packed lunch. The teacher will let you know what you will be learning.

Classroom Each day you will be learning new things. You sit on the carpet and listen to the teacher. Sometimes you work at your table on a task.

Classroom You must try your very best. You must tidy up after yourself.

Assemblies Sometime we have a school assembly in the hall. You sit on the floor in a row with your class. You have to listen very carefully in assembly. Your class will have a turn at doing an assembly.

Starting School Starting school is lots of fun. You will learn lots of new things and enjoy making new friends 
