How do we learn from everyone in everything? By School Council 2016

E.E.D.I.E.P At Oliver Tomkins WE children learn something new every day. But how do we learn? E.E.D.I.E.P is the No.1 key element of learning. 1.Engage to be ready to learn. 2.Explain your opinion of your work. 3.Demonstrating is what the teacher does and is what you need to look at. 4.Imitate what you have been shown. 5.Engage at the end of the lesson. 6.Practise at home all the time

E.I.P E- Engage with all learning opportunities. Be prepared to find yourself in the pit and become a learning warrior. I- Imitate learning models, examples and images. P- Practise skills and assess learning and so, challenge myself.

School Council Learning Observations Learning Behaviours What Am I Learning? Why? How? Managing distractions-Resilience Listening. Questioning. Talking in partners. Using the ‘help myself’ resources. Collaborating on tasks. Reflecting. Co-operating with others. Making observations and learning from others. Following golden rules. Taking responsibility. In the pit, upleveling my work. I think….because…. Convince me…. I notice…. Working together to investigate…. If I know….then I know…. Independent learning skills. Making links. How to become a master. To use the learning ladders. To offer learning ladders to others.

School Council Learning Observations How have I improved? Resolving my issues. Making mistakes. Praising others. Doing it myself. Using my targets. Getting into the pit. Using the ladders I am given. Knowing when not to give an opinion. Searching for clues. Challenging myself. Asking ‘Why’. Challenging others Presentation of my work. Using stars and wishes. Learning Behaviour Changes Throughout the school, school council noticed changes in learning behaviours.
