PA NEWSLETTER Happy New Year! Welcome Back to another busy year! Thank you for supporting your PA so much last year, especially at our Christmas Fair which was a wonderful success raising a total of £2118.00. It was great to see so many parents, children and former St Catherine’s students. We would like to say a massive thank you to all the lovely helpers who gave up their time to make the fair as magical as it was. We understand that Santa was very impressed with our children here at St Catherine’s. We particularly loved the vocal entertainment! It definitely brought a special Christmas atmosphere to hear all our favourite Christmas carols beautifully sung by no less than 75 children from Mrs Kernick’s Christmas Choir! We would also like to extend a big thank you to Natasha Dark for her beautiful renditions which really added to the ambience. Keep your eyes peeled Very soon pictures of the Christmas Fair can be viewed on the PA web page on the St Catherine's website. So where's all the money raised going/gone? So far, last year, the PA were responsible for purchasing the following; New plastic benches for the playground Parasols for the benches Storage for the PA shed BBQ security Salad knives for the cooking project run at school Donations towards the children's Christmas parties This year… The PA, Mrs Burt and Mrs Harris are currently in conversations about buying new playground equipment to replace the broken wooden equipment we currently have. Research is being made by the PA into potential equipment providers. We appreciate this purchase has been a long time coming, however it is important that we make the right purchase. We hope to have equipment up and running in time for the milder weather. Should anyone have any personal connections with playground equipment providers please don’t hesitate to recommend via the office. For the first time we used the new building for some of our stalls and our new Grotto which allowed the fair to flow more easily and eased the congestion in the main building which can be a bit hectic to say the least! We had great fun watching everyone playing on our newly designed games as well our Year 6 who did a great job creating and implementing their own games. Finally we enjoyed a bit of Christmas mulled wine along with the usual Christmas refreshments which were, as always, extremely tasty!

PA NEWSLETTER What's Next! Future Events Parent Council Reshuffle! The PA has started looking at the year ahead and already have some good ideas for future events we could possibly run this year. We would like to build on these ideas at the next PA meeting next Thursday 11 February at school at 7.30pm and hope to see many faces there. All events will be communicated via the PA Newsletter in due course. Many thanks and we look forward to a fun packed year ahead! What's Next! On Friday the 12th February the children will have the opportunity to take part in a Sponsored Bounce! This activity has been run at St Catherine's by the PA for many years and is a big favourite with the children. The event will be run during the school day and the children can wear mufti that day. Groups are sorted into 4/5 children. They are given 1 minute and in that time they have to bounce as many times as possible on a bouncy castle. Adult helpers will be counting each jump on the day. If anyone is able to give their time to help the PA on the morning, 8.30 – 11.30am, please leave your contact details with the office for Nadia Gribbins to contact you. Attached is a permission slip that needs to be returned before the Friday if you wish your child/children to participate. We also have attached the Sponsor form which we encourage you to complete and send back to school as soon as possible after completing the bounce. Parent Council Reshuffle! The Parent Council are having a meeting on *****to find volunteers for key positions within their committee as well as new members. If you would like to find out more please don’t hesitate to speak to the office for Nicoll Gosling’s (Chair) contact details. We hope you can make it.
