Friends of Brimscombe School FOBS Friends of Brimscombe School This is YOUR Parent Teachers Association for Brimscombe School. Anyone who has a child at school is a member and anyone can help in anyway they feel they can… That can mean simply buying a cake raffle ticket, coming to support events, helping run existing events or thinking up new ones.

In England and Wales it is a legal requirement for organisations engaged in charitable activities, with an annual income of more than £5,000, to register as a charity with the Charity Commission. £7300 was raised in year 2015/16 Benefits of Charity Registration The benefits of obtaining charitable status include: - exemption from the payment of income and corporation tax being able to receive charitable donations from local and national companies being eligible to apply to grant-making charitable trusts: most charitable trusts will give grants only to groups formally recognised as charities being able to receive donations made through Payroll Giving and Company Matched Giving schemes being eligible to apply for Gift Aid.
