Religious Education Classes will be taken by Mr Rose on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Literacy In Term 1 there will be a strong emphasis on Narrative and Persuasive Writing in preparation for NAPLAN. Throughout the rest of the year there will be a focus on exposing students to a wide variety of text types and creating texts using written and digital technologies. There will also be a focus through all literacy areas to develop comprehension, spelling and grammar skills.

Numeracy/Mathematics Number and Algebra – Number concepts: place value, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, decimal, percentages and fractions. Statistics and Probability Measurement and Geometry

Technology and Enterprise The Arts Visual Arts: Wednesdays Semester 1: Arts Skills and Processes Semester 2: Arts Responses Technology and Enterprise Becoming familiar with and using ipads for a variety of purposes. Completing group work using ipad technology. Project Design and Construction- Health Resilience and emotional wellbeing Using Bounce Back (SDERA Program)

Specialist Teachers Mrs McCormack has the class on a Tuesday for Geography and History, and on a Thursday morning for Science. Miss Prowse has the class for Physical Education on a Monday morning. Mrs Criddle takes the class on Tuesday morning for Performing Arts (Dance and Drama) Mrs O’Malley takes the class for Italian on a Thursday morning.

School Uniform Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the summer uniform is to be worn. Monday and Friday the sport uniform is to be worn. On Friday the faction shirt is required. Predominantly white shoes on Monday and Friday. Please remember that long hair is to be tied up and appropriately coloured accessories used.

Homework Homework will consist of regular reading practice, spelling activities and a mathematics activity for the week. Reading each night. Aim for 10-15 minutes per night. Daily Reading will be sighted and signed each morning. Homework will be sent home on Monday. Spelling and Mathematics will be marked on Friday.

Extra Notes Library Borrowing Day: Friday Library bag and previous book must be at school for a new book to be borrowed. Water bottles- I encourage every child to have a water bottle to bring into the classroom. We are a Nut Friendly School

Absent Notes If your child is absent please notify the school in the morning. Please remember to send in a note to explain your child’s absence when they return to school. Please use the tear-out strip at the back of the school diary. Bus Notes Thank you to those parents who have already contacted me via the school diary regarding bus movements. It is of great help to me for notes to be included in your child’s diary if they are not on the bus.
