Geometry Vocabulary Quiz Study Powerpoint

Trapezoid A quadrilateral with exactly 1 pair of parallel sides.

Parallelogram A quadrilateral with 2 pairs of opposite sides.

Square A quadrilateral with 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides.

Rhombus A quadrilateral with 4 congruent sides and either 2 acute, 2 obtuse or 4 right angles.

Rectangle A quadrilateral with 4 right angles.

Isosceles Triangle A triangle with 2 sides equal.

Acute Triangle A triangle with 3 acute angles.

Obtuse Triangle A triangle with one obtuse angle.

Scalene Triangle A triangle with no equal sides.

Right Triangle A triangle with one right angle.

Equilateral Triangle A triangle with all three sides equal

Quadrilateral A shape with 4 sides, 4 angles and a closed figure.

Line Segment Two endpoints and all the points between them.

Ray Part of a line with one endpoint.

Angle Two rays with a common endpoint.

Perpendicular Lines Lines that intersect at right angles.

Endpoint Point at the end of a ray or segment.

Line Extends forever in opposite directions.

Vertex A point that two intersecting lines share

Point Common endpoint of the rays of an angle

Intersecting Lines Lines that intersect

Parallel Lines Lines in the same plane that never intersect
