LEGISLATIVE UPDATE - 2011 SESSION Court Decisions Academic Credit for Off-Campus Religious Instruction South Carolina Released Time Credit Act Award elective credits for released time religious instruction Spartanburg County School District 7 adopted policy based on Act Federal District Court ruled that religious instruction does not violate First Amendment Establishment Clause Recommended District Action None at this time – Appeal in progress
