I’m about to order a new system. TRIOS Upgrade FAQ 1.3.1.0 changes I’m about to order a new system. What should I do to get shade measurement? It is possible to upgrade color scanners to measure shade. This requires a) an active subscription and b) that the scanner is shipped to a repair facility (will take approx. 2-3 weeks, depending on load).   You pay for: Shipping of scanner and color calibration kit You do not pay for: Upgrade of the scanner If a customer has a standard monochrome scanner and would like to upgrade to colors and shades: Contact 3Shape for a trade-in deal.

No. The capability to measure shades is in the scanner itself, so with a shade-enabled scanner you can use shade measurement on carts, pods and chair integrated systems. 

Do I need to do something extra? TRIOS Upgrade FAQ 1.3.1.0 changes Do I need to do something extra? Shade measurement requires that you make a color calibration from time to time, using the calibration kit described above. The software will notify when it’s time to calibrate and the procedure takes about 1 minute. If calibration messages are ignored for 30 days, the system will disable shade measurement.

Support will schedule a date interval with Production in Poland for the upgrade, and the case contact person will be informed when to send the scanner. An RMA will be issued. Customer sends the scanner & the calibration object on the pre-defined date. 3shape arrange pickup via DHL Reseller will be charged for a new one calibration object if it is not sent.
