WHY YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO GOD’S SON THIS CHRISTMAS Hebrews 1: 1-4

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it. The Son reflects God's own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly.

He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command. After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, he sat down in the place of honour at the right hand of the majestic God of heaven. This shows that God's Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is far greater than their names.”

God’s Son is God’s FINAL WORD to mankind “Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.” Hebrews 1:1 “For the law was given through Moses (first), but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ (second). John1:17 “….do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and your are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21

2. God’s Son is the RULER of the Universe and the One who HOLDS it together “….and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it. The Son reflects God's own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command.” Hebrews 1:2-3 “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see – such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:15

3. God’s Son is the ANSWER to the Problem of human sinfulness “When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the placed of honour at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.” Hebrews 1: 3b

4. God’s Son is the RULER of the Universe both for Time and Eternity “This shows us that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names.” Hebrews 1:4
