Waking Up With A Knife In Your Back Psalm 3

Have you ever had someone close to you turn on you and become your enemy?  What do you do when you’ve been stabbed in the back and the whole world seems to be against you?

David’s Dilemma 2 Samuel 7:1-16:8

Oh Lord, how my adversaries have increased Oh Lord, how my adversaries have increased!  Many are rising up against me.  Many are saying of my soul, ‘There is no deliverance for him in God.’

You, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.

I was crying to the LORD with my voice, and He answered me from His holy mountain.  Think about this!

I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me, I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O LORD; deliver me, O my God! Strike my enemies on the jaw!

When he was “stabbed in the back” by people close to him, David focused his attention on God who was his protector, the lifter of his head, and the responder to his prayers.

His words in Psalm 3 tell us how we can handle a similar situation.
