What are tides? The rising and falling of ocean water along our shores

What causes tides? GRAVITY and centrifugal force

How often do tides occur? Most coastal areas experience two high tides and two low tides per day.

When are high tides? When a location if facing the moon and on the opposite side of the globe. High tides are 12 hours apart. Low tides are also 12 hours apart. It takes around 6 hours for a low tide to rise into a high tide. It takes another 6 hours for that high tide to lower back into a low tide.
