Presentation transcript:

WiSE provides support and extra-curricular opportunities geared toward women in STEM fields, with the goal of increasing their recruitment, retention and success.

“I want to work towards creating a society where women are represented equal to men across all professions. I am adamant in working towards this goal because I believe women have skills and characteristics that are specific to women only, and integrating such abilities into the workforce will shape society so that it functions more efficiently.” Parveen Attai Biomedical Sciences Junior WiSE Education and Advocacy Committee Chair

“As an ambitious researcher and engineer, I have faced challenges reaching my goals due to gender related issues that many minorities face in the STEM field. I am motivated to tackle some of these issues head on by holding workshops and soon create case studies addressing these challenges in hopes to improve the future for women and other minority groups in STEM.” Anna Smith Chemical and Biological Engineering Senior WiSE Education and Advocacy Committee Member Goldwater Scholar
