Indiana Business News, September 14, 2011 National, state SAT scores tumble as participation rises. How did WCHS fair?

In 2011, WCHS SAT Critical Reading Scores increased 18 points In 2011, WCHS SAT Critical Reading Scores increased 18 points. WCHS scored well above both the Indiana and United States mean score.

WCHS SAT mathematics scores increased 15 points WCHS SAT mathematics scores increased 15 points. Again, WCHS score well above both the state and national mean.

The combination of the reading SAT mean score and the Math SAT mean score gave WCHS a composite mean SAT score 33 points higher than in 2010. Note: The college board considers a 6 point increase to be significant.

WCHS mean writing scores increased 13 points WCHS mean writing scores increased 13 points. This is the WCHS highest mean writing score on record, It is 9 points above the state mean, but it is still 4 points below the national mean.

The composite mean scores of the critical reading, the mathematics mean, and the writing mean increased by a total of 56 points. Again, this is significantly above both the state and national means.

ACT Results WCHS Class of 2011

ACT In English, mathematics, and reading the WCHS class of 2011 scored 14.7%, 14.7%, and 12.8% higher than the state average.

SAT Advice to Students and Parents
