Glenair Glendale have one of the largest MAZAK machining centers in the western United States. We consume over 2 million pounds of aluminum annually; and We plate in excess of 40 million parts per year (~3.3 million monthly). Glenair have 2500 employees in Glenale of which ~2100 are non union production workers – additionally, Glenair have ~625 in the UK/Italy for a total of ~3,100 total employees world-wide as of October 2012.
Approved Supplier Credentials This is perhaps the most important measure of quality and reliability of all: the many world-class OEMs and system manufacturers who have tested and qualified our company and our products for use in their equipment. And Glenair is not a casual or one-time supplier to these companies. We have ongoing successful relationships with every one listed here and hundreds more. For many of these OEM, system and sub-system manufacturers, Glenair has become their principal interconnect designer and supplier—especially for the most challenging and difficult component they buy--such as EMI filters, hermetics, and composites.
Summary of Contact Types Signal & Thermocouple EMI Filter Coax/Twinax Optoelectronic Pneumatic Gas/Fluids This slide illustrates the range of standard and special-purpose contacts manufactured by Glenair. Working from left to right (and enlarged so you can see the detail) we show the unique TwistPin contact that we use in our Nano, Micro-D, and SuperFly connectors. Next in line are various signal, thermocouple and power contacts. The silver plated LouverBand power contact shown goes into our Series 970 PowerTrip connector and is designed to improve current carrying capacity and reduce temperature rise in high-ampacity applications. Glenair is one of the industry’s premier suppliers of EMI and EMP filter connectors and we make a wide range of the component parts—including the contacts—that go into these mission-critical assemblies. Of course we also make all the requisite hermetic, shielded and fiber optic contacts that populate our circular and rectangular connectors in land, sea, air and space applications. Please also note a few extraordinary capabilities we bring to the table, namely optoelectronic media conversion contacts as well as contact systems for high-pressure gas and fluid applications. Circular Connector Series Summary Ultra miniature Micro miniature Nano miniature Standard Miniature Subminiature Standard Glenair circular connectors can be grouped into standard, miniature and subminiature families. These groupings reflect the packaging density and the contact size, and also represent the evolution of the connectors over the past 70 years. The standard group includes the venerable 5015’s (Glenair IT/ITS Series) and our QPL’d 28840 shipboard connector. Miniature circulars include the 26482 (Glenair IPT series). 38999’s are the only significant subminiature circular. Glenair offers an innovative range of environmental specials as well as QPL’d hermetics for D38999 customers. The Series 80 Mighty Mouse is the Glenair invented Mil-Aero connector that weighs in at half the size and weight as D38999. The Series 811 Might Mouse and the SuperFly offer additional size and weight savings.
