The Answer Here’s how to solve it:
The Answer Find the biggest and smallest numbers that round to 3.5 using three decimal places. We know that one number must be less and one must be greater than 3.5. I know that 3.4__ can round up to 3.5 if there is a five or more in the hundredths place. I add the zero to get 3 places and because that makes my number the smallest it can be… 3.450. I know that 3.5__ rounds down if there is a four or less. Four is the biggest possible number that allows me to round down. Therefore 3.54__; the number in the thousandths place doesn’t matter on the rounding BUT the biggest number will be 3.549.
