Centrarchidae single dorsal fin consisting of both spiny and soft rays. 3 more spines on the anal fin than other fish. All members of this family are found in PA Northeastern American family. Endangered Longear Sunfish Warmouth Spotted Bass

Mud Sunfish Acantharchus pomotis Length- 6.5” Description- light to dark green; its ear flap has a black spot, sometimes orange in larger species. Weight- .75lb Mouth- facing upwards Location- Eastern Pa Watershed- Delaware

Bluegill Lepomis macrochirus Length- 12” Description- upper sides and back are greenish. Breast is yellow or coppery orange with a white belly. Also there is a black blotch on the rear of the dorsal fin. Weight- 2 lb biggest in PA Mouth- facing forwards Location- ponds, lakes, slow moving water Watershed- Erie, Ohio, Potomac, Susquehanna, Delaware

Rock Bass Ambloplites rupestris Length- 12” Description- Back/ upper sides olive brown- golden brown. 6 spines on anal fin. Eye- bright red/ yellow Weight-1lb Mouth- facing upwards Location- cool, clear lakes, frequenting rocky or stone rubble areas Watershed- Erie, Ohio, Potomac, Susquehanna, Delaware
