Uintah County Dinosaur National Monument is located in the city of Vernal in Uintah County. Fossils found in Uintah County include Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, and Diplodocus From the fossils found in Uintah County, we can infer that the area had a tropical climate.

Emery County Emery County is home to the Cleveland-Lloyd Quarry. Utah Raptor fossils have been found there. Leaf fossils from the Cretaceous Period have also been found.

Carbon County Carbon County has massive coal deposits. Coal is a fossil fuel indicating the area was once covered with ancient swamps and tropical vegetation.

Millard County Millard County has an abundance of many varieties of Trilobites near Antelope Springs. Trilobites lived in an ancient shallow ocean during the Paleozoic Era.

Weber County Ogden Canyon has fossils of plants, seashells, and coral from the Mississippian and Devonian Periods. Brachiopod = arm foot Gastropods = Stomach feet Arthropods = Boney feet

Wayne County Wayne County has abundant oyster shells west of Caineville.

Washington County Washington, Kane, Grand, Garfield, and Emery Counties form a strip of land on which petrified wood is found. Ancient swamps with massive trees were flooded with volcanic ash from an eruption that leveled the forests.

Box Elder County Trilobite, sea shells, and fish fossils are found in Box Elder and Cache Counties.

Iron County Iron County has lots of oyster shell fossils from the Cretaceous Period.

Salt Lake County Sea Urchin fossils have been found in Emigration Canyon along with other marine fossils.

San Juan County Marine fossils have been found near Chicken Corner Trail.

Sanpete County A variety of marine fossils have been found in the Green River Formation in Sanpete and Wasatch Counties.

Sevier County Many plant fossils from the Cretaceous Period have been found in the Black Hawk Formation.

Summit and Tooele Counties Horn Coral has been found in Summit and Tooele Counties. Rough Horn Coral Fossils Polished Horn Coral Fossils
