Presentation transcript:

The University of Mississippi IEP BILLING The University of Mississippi

IEP Bursar Sheet You will receive an IEP Bursar Sheet. It tells you what fees you must pay. Most students should be prepared to pay for tuition, housing, housing application fee, mandatory chest x-ray, mandatory health insurance, and international student fee. Additional fees related to optional selections (meal plans, trips, MMRs, etc.) will be billed later and are not listed on this sheet. Please pay amount on Bursar Sheet by February 15!

Account Statement The University may send you an email or letter with your account statement. This is WRONG!

What is the Bursar? All charges like tuition, meal plans, housing, and other fees are charged to each student’s Bursar Account. You do not give money to IEP directly. The Office of the Bursar is responsible for billing students tuition, housing, and other fees. It is also the office where you pay your bursar account. This office is located on the 2nd floor of Martindale, across the street from IEP. Each student has a bursar account (student account bill) that they must pay in full by the end of each month.

Where is the Bursar? Martindale Hall – across the street from IEP!

University billing is VERY COMPLICATED! Please be patient! Each student will need to accept scholarships to equal your IEP Bursar Sheet amount.

Your UM Bursar Account All billing and payment at UM goes through your UM Bursar Account Payment schedule is as follows: 1st day of month — bill is due 15th day of month — a hold is placed on your student account Last day of month — a service fee of 1.5% is added to the charge You can review charges on your account through my.olemiss.edu Check your bill closely and ask Laura if you don’t understand a charge.

Viewing your Bursar Account Go to my.olemiss.edu Log in using your Web ID and password In the left-hand menu click on “Financials” On the “Account Statement” page, you may choose to retrieve either a web HTML or Adobe PDF Account Statement. Your current charges can be seen on this page.

Paying Your Bill You can pay your bill one of 3 ways: 1. Online using a Visa or Mastercard If you use a credit or debit card, there is a 2.75% fee 2. At the Bursar’s Office (2nd Floor Martindale Student Services Center) using cash, check, money order, credit card, or debit card (Visa or Mastercard) We are happy to help you set up a US bank account so you can pay with cash or check – please see us after this presentation 3. Online using Peer Transfer Some fees apply.

Paying Your Bill Online Login to my.olemiss.edu and click on “Financials” At the “Account Statement” page, click on “Pay Account” in the left-hand menu On the “Pay Account” screen type in the amount you would like to pay and select a payment method: New Bank Account — Must be US account; required information can be found on a check or deposit slip from your account New Credit Card — Must be Visa or Mastercard but can be international You will see a confirmation page if the payment was successful.

Flywire Follow the steps for paying your bill online, except click International Payment via peer Transfer instead of Make Payment Use for charges of $50 or more

Some Notes to Remember Make sure to check your balance often. Pay your bill on time! You will get late fees if you don’t. Your balance in the Bursar Account must be $0.00 before May 13, 2017.
