THE PLOT (please click 3 times) Theo’s best friend April disappears in the middle of the night from her bedroom, and nobody knows where she is. The police confirmed that there was an kidnapping, and Theo is called over to April’s house to talk with the police. That night, right before April disappeared, Theo talked to her on the phone like always, and she told him things that he promised not to repeat. The police soon find a suspect of the abduction…

THE GENRE Fiction Mystery

THE THEME Conflict with authority Questioning authority Faith

CHARACTER RELATIONS I can relate to Theo’s willingness to try to help get his best friend back. I can’t relate to April, she had a miserable home life with neglecting parents.

EXCERPT(PG9) The truth was that Mrs. Finnemore had not been home for the past two nights. April had been living alone, terrified, with all the doors and windows locked as tightly as possible; with a chair jammed against her bedroom door; with the phone close and ready to dial 911, and no one in the world to talk to but Theodore Boone, who had vowed not to tell a soul. Her father was out of town with his band. Her mother was taking pills and losing her mind.
