Students did a wonderful job learning and retaining information on Native Americans. They learned the reservations and tribes that are in Montana, they gave themselves a Native American name, made tepees, and made a dream catcher. Students also gained knowledge of how Native Americans see the world from listening to many Native American legends. Ask your 2nd grader if they can name the 7 reservations located in Montana! Thank you all for taking the time to attend parent/teacher conferences. It was very nice to visit with you about your wonderful children.  December’s Learning Targets Phonics- Long e: ee, ea, y, Long o: oa & ow, Compound Words Grammar- Verb Tense, Contractions, Transitional words, Prepositions Vocabulary Words - Chance, Comment, Compare Math - 2-digit addition Writing - Christmas/Holiday writing activities, Narrative writing with a Beginning, middle, and end, and Writing sequences Handwriting – Everyday neatness, line use, formation, and finger spaces. Second graders will do a journal entry, craft, and sample a special treat from each country. When your child brings the final project home to share with you, there will be QR scanner codes included on each county’s page. This code can be scanned with a smart phone or tablet to discover more about each country! Pizza Hut Book-It!
