“Jose Garcia, my husband, the father of my three children was taken abruptly from us at the age of 33. We were weary and skeptical of donating his organs. We felt as if we were taking him apart, as if we didn’t care for him. Then my oldest daughter Isabella, who is 12 years old, tells me, “It wouldn’t be so bad if we donated his organs. Maybe he saves somebody else’s dad.” At that moment I felt like I heard angels singing. It was a moment of epiphany.”
