Taiwan is a small island nation 180km east of China

Taiwan cuisine features & history Taiwan was influenced by Chinese and Japanese cultures Taiwanese had to adapt their dishes to the lack of resources in the country Taiwanese dishes are simpler and make use of what is readily available The staple food in the country is rice They use complex flavours such as soy sauce, black beans, rice wine, sesame oil, pickles, chili, mustard, and parsley Traditional meals are mostly seafood and fish-based owing to the vast coastal waters surrounding the country IT’S HISTORY IS GREATLY ENTWINED WITH CHINA CULMINATING IN THE IMMIGRATION OF THE CHINESE NATIONALIST GOVERNMENT TO TAIWAN IN 1949 AFTER CHINESE COMMUNISTS TOOK OVER MAINLAND CHINA

3 representing dishes Bubble tea (珍珠奶茶) Braised pork rice (滷肉飯) Beef noodle (牛肉麵) "Where there's a wisp of smoke from the kitchen chimney, there will be lurou fan [braised pork with rice]," goes the Taiwanese saying. You know a food is an obsession when it gets its own festival. Beef noodle soup inspires competitiveness and innovation in chefs. Everyone wants to claim the title of beef noodle king Bubble tea represents the "QQ" food texture that Taiwanese love. The phrase refers to something that is especially chewy, like the tapioca balls forming the "bubbles" in bubble tea.

Bubble tea Dissolve 2 scoops of non- dairy creamer and 1 scoop of sugar or sugar syrup with ½ cup of hot brewed tea in a shaker cup. Add in 2 cups of ice, cover and shake until mixed well and a nice froth is formed. Add ¼ cup of tapioca pearls to your drinking cup, pour milk tea over the tapioca and enjoy!

Why dose this use these ingredients Because it tastes good They are used to using these ingredients

Chinese table manners The are some special differences from manners in the western countries. Around the dining tables guest aren’t to be seated until the host/ hostess invitation, dishes are always placed into the centre of the table. You may start eating after the host/hostess and guests have been seated.

Comparing Australian and Chinese cuisine. Chinese food tends to be perceived as a singular cuisine whereas Australia is a more home grown food environment for food. Australians use more home grown ingredients to use in their cooking methods.

Is THE CUSINE HEALTHY? WHY OR WHY NOT? THIS CUISINE IS UNHEALTHY BECAUSE IT CONTAINS A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF FAT SED TO MAKE THEIR SIGNATURE DISHES TASTE DELCIOUS.

WHAT DO I LIKE OF CHINESE FOOD? WHAT DON’T I LIKE OF CHINESE FOOD? I LIKE CHINESE FOOD BECAUSE IT HAS ADELCIOUS TASTE AND HAS A VERY DIFFERENT TASTE AND TEXTURE TO IT THEN WHAT AUSTRALIAN FOOD DOES.

ANY OTHER THINGS THAT PROVOKED YOUR THNKING? IT MADE IT A VERY CHALLENGING TASK BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER RESEARCHED OR LEARNT ABOUT THE TAIWAN CUSINE AND ITS CULTURE.
