Certification Team Learn the basics of rocket design, manufacturing, and launch safety Create and fly your own 6 ft. tall rocket Earn certification with a national amateur rocketry organization

Certification Team 12 new members will be accepted per semester Team will be split into 4 build groups, each with 3 builders and 1 lead Build groups will meet once per week for their build times

Certification Team Email with certification signup form will go out next Monday at noon! ACCEPTANCE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS, with priority given to freshmen and sophomores Those that are not accepted this semester will be given priority next semester

Ground Systems Lead – Parth Patel (ASE, Senior) Crew will handle tasks with test site infrastructure: Fluid Systems Data Acquisition Areas of Expertise: All-around experience; reinforcement of classwork knowledge Practical application of engineering tools; such as SolidWorks, Excel, LabView Hands-on work with instrument testing and piping assembly.

Flight Systems Lead – Matt Janecka (ASE, Senior) Crew will handle tasks with airframe design and manufacturing Body layup Payload and propulsion integration Areas of expertise: Application of aerodynamics and materials analysis ANSYS simulation of airflow and finite-element analysis of parts Fiberglass layup and rocket assembly

Electronics Lead –Butch Bartels (ASE, Sophomore) Crew will handle tasks with flight electronics and avionics Circuit and PCB design Payload design and stress analysis Areas of expertise: Sensor testing; microcontroller operation; embedded systems Flight computer programming Data acquisition, storage, and transmission

Propulsion What you can learn: Basics of rocket propulsion Engine design and data analysis How to use chemical equilibrium programs (NASA CEA, Propep) Solidworks/Matlab/Excel

Be the apprentice treasurer! Be part of the club's executive tribunal (which makes all the big decisions)! Be responsible for the budget (and making sure we don't go over it)! Take care of the club's purchases (and learn about the equipment our teams use in the process)! Handle big wads of cash! Put an important leadership position on your resume! Do a lot of accounting and spreadsheets

Be the apprentice treasurer! Requirements: Must be a sophomore or junior (sophomores preferred) Must have at least one prior semester of team activity (certification or SAC) Must have at least one semester of SAC team experience by the end of the year (and then you will be treasurer next year) I will send out an application survey via the mailing list for you to complete if you are interested
