BIG Day of Giving is brought to you by your local community foundations

AGENDA Background & History How Does it Work? Goals Eligibility Requirements Why Should You Participate? Choosing a Team Captain GivingEdge & Giving Day Technology Expectations & Timeline Q & A

BACKGROUND & HISTORY

HOW DOES IT WORK? What is it? How Does it Work? One day – 24 hour giving challenge A celebration of the nonprofit community Entire community comes together to be a part of a very special day of philanthropy. Part of a national event: Give Local America How Does it Work? Kicks off at the stroke of midnight on May 3rd and ends at 11:59 pm the same day. Donors choose nonprofits to support and make a credit card donation at www.bigdayofgiving.org Each nonprofit will have their own donation page! (more on this later!)

HOW DOES IT WORK? What do we (NPOs) actually do? Do what you do best, fundraise! Virtual event – everything happens online! Create a marketing campaign Use social media

NEW GIVING BEHAVIOR: Giving Days help introduce and reinforce new giving behaviors that can help lead to greater year-round giving. From a BIG Day of Giving donor: The BIG Day of Giving is an organized way for me to make my yearly contributions to local groups. I also like the way it is set up so I can see who is participating. I try to find at least one new group to support each year. I like being able to have my donation stretch farther with matches from businesses...
