Figure 1 Transaxial coronary computed tomography angiography showing attenuation measurement in the aortic root (AO) left main artery (LM), and perivascular tissue (PT) (window width, 1200; window level, 240) of monochromatic reconstructions and different contributions of adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASiR); 60 keV/0% ASiR (A), 75 keV/40% ASiR (B), and 110 keV/80% ASiR (C). Figure 2 Multiplanar reformation images of left anterior descending artery reconstructed with 60 keV/0% adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASiR; A), 75 keV/40% ASiR (B), and 110 keV/80% ASiR (C). Figure 3 (A) With increasing monochromatic image energy the left main artery attenuation decreases while the perivascular tissue attenuation increases. This convergence of both curves results in a decrease in contrast. The curves represent the reconstructions with 0% adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASiR). However, adding any ASiR contribution did not affect the curves. (B) Increasing values of monochromatic image energy resulted in a decrease in noise, which was further significantly reduced by adding 40% ASiR or more. (C) Compared with conventional polychromatic images contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) significantly increased with the use of 40% or more ASiR in monochromatic reconstructions. Figure 4 Mean image quality of monochromatic reconstructions assed by Likert scale. The horizontal line presents mean image quality of standard images, that is, polychromatic images reconstructed with 0% adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASiR).
