The DSD the DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom/German Language Certificate) is a joint undertaking of the German Federal Government and the federal states (Länder) the Central Committee for the German Language Certicate sets the standards for the DSD the DSD is aligned with school-leaving certificates in Germany it correlates with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) quality assurance is guaranteed through scientific monitoring and evaluation of assessment methodology DSD examinations are taken in more than 65 countries by approximately 70,000 students per year

DSD I listening comprehension reading comprehension written communication oral communication corresponds to level B1 of the CEFR years 9 to 10, 14- to 16-year olds provides advantages when applying to study in Germany
