Lessons learn in the process of the archives buildings insulation Māra Sprūdža, National Archives of Latvia Meeting of the Baltic Archivists “Archives – modern, smart, open” 01.06. 2017, Palanga, Lithuania
Basic information 22 archive buildings (in Riga 4 archives and administration located in 7 buildings and 11 regional archives in 12 cities located in 15 buildings) Built 1640 - 1990 The total building floor area - 102 203 m2 Storage area - 35 061 m2 169 linear shelf km 21 857 567 stored units LNA ir izvietots 22 ēkās 21 no tām valstij VNĪ personā. Archives have the management contracts1 ēka pilnība būvēta kā arhīvs, Slokas iela – daļēji. Pārējās pielāgotas
Bezdelīga – būvēts kā padomju tipveida arhīvs Skandu – rūpnīca Elmīra. Vairāk kā 40 000m2 platība. Apgūti 11000m2, no tiem 7000m2 glabātavas Jāiegulda jaunas infrastruktūras – apkures un ventilācijas sistēmas, elektropiegādes sistēmas,,
Problems: A lot of infrastructure facilities Most of the buildings are not suitable for archives Archive building is physically worn, morally outdated Archive building has low energy efficiency Average storage loading rate is 90% Several historical buildings are located on private land None of the archive building is provided with full accessibility for persons with disabilities Tomēr būtisks traucēklis ZVA iniciatīvām šajā jomā ir to infrastruktūras stāvoklis.
LNA infrastructure maintenance Priorities: Roofs, windows, water and heating systems Fire and electrical safety Emergency situations The security risks Budget: ~ 200 000 EUR per year Katru gadu infrastruktūras uzturēšanā – remontos, avārijas situāciju novēŗšanā, attštībā tiek ieguldīti aptuveni 200000 EUR. Tomēr šie ieguldījumi nenodrošina kvalitatīvu uzlabojumus un virzību uz attīsītbu
