Do Now! Turn in Article of the Week reflection (The Swamp Fox) to the bin. If you have your final draft of the essay, make sure all papers are in order and correct or it will not be accepted. I will collect these. Write 5 review questions for the R21 notes (Battles/Armies) where they will fit.

Results of the American Revolution

Cornell Notes! Objective on R22 Students will trace the events leading to the Revolutionary War and understand how this shaped the new nation.

Why the Americans Won… Better Leadership Foreign Aide (Money from France & Spain) Knowledge of the land Motivation (property and dreams of liberty)

The Cost of War… 25, 000 Americans and 10,000 British lost their lives in the war. American soldiers left the war with nothing because they were not paid for their services. The United States went deeply in debt.

The Treaty of Paris 1783 The United States was Independent. The boundaries of the United States would extend west to the Mississippi River, border Canada to North and Florida (owned by Spain)to South. Each side would repay debts owed before the war. The British would return any slaves they captured before the war. Congress would Recommend property taken from the loyalists by the United States be returned.

L22 Cause Effect

Cause and Effects Timeline!- A Day Groups of 3- NO MORE THAN 3 Before you are given a timeline, you should sort the pieces into causes and effects. (You should in the process also place them in chronological order.) You can use some events in both categories! When you feel confident in your answers, I will come around and provide the paper for your timeline. You must label the event and draw a picture to show what it did!
