Creating Confident Kids The Programme was developed by Highland Council Psychological Service in 2008 but updated in 2013. This programme is currently one of three that exist. Resilient Kids Together has been developed for pupils in middle primary school (primary 3/4) and Resilient Kids Moving Up is aimed at primary seven pupils to prepare them for transition to secondary school. Resilient Kids to School aims to support children with the transition from nursery to primary one. The large E and L in the title highlights the Emotional Literacy focus of the pack. Emotional Literacy is described as the ability to be aware of and manage our own feelings and to be aware of and respond appropriately to the feelings of others. It is widely accepted that when emotional literacy is targeted within a school curriculum, academic achievement is raised.
