Colour Harmonies Special Dates C&G Level 2 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Floristry Gaynor Couturier

Valentine’s Day 14th February The sending of flowers on Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for a florist An ‘eye catching’ themed window display is a great selling point to entice customers into your shop It needs to reflect your image, style and be a talking point.

Red roses represent true love and therefore is one the most popular flower to send. Choices range from a single red rose, 6 red roses to 12 red roses and more, hand tied and arranged in floral foam, mixed with foliage etc.

Increase sales with packaging, containers, balloons, chocolates, cuddly toys, wine, champagne etc

As an alternative to roses, you could offer Tulips, Ranunculus, lilies etc. Also colours, such as pink, white etc.

Mother’s day - Sunday 30th March 2013 Again, another busy day on the florist calendar. A themed window display is always designed to encourage sales. This must always include the date as this changes each year. Pre-made designs are displayed in-store ready for sale giving customers a choice from a range of styles from bouquets, arrangements to pot plants and planted designs (prices clearly marked) Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in the UK on the fourth Sunday in lent since at least the 16th century.

Easter Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the most important Christian festival, and the one celebrated with the greatest joy. The date of Easter changes each year, and several other Christian festivals fix their dates by reference to Easter. Churches are filled with flowers, and there are special hymns and songs. But not all Easter customs are Christian; some, such as the Easter Bunny, are pagan in origin. www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/christianity/holydays/easter.shtml
