Name of Colonies Virginia- VA Maryland- MD North Carolina- NC South Carolina- SC Georgia- GA

Leaders of the Colonies James Oglethorpe was the leader of Savannah, Georgia. Lord Baltimore was the leader of Baltimore, Maryland. John Smith was the leader of Jamestown, Virginia. The Albemarle group was the leader of North Carolina. The Charleston group was the leader of South Carolina. James Oglethorpe-Georgia

Types of Settlers In the Southern Colonies, there we many African Slaves, (and Native American slaves.) There were also European farmers, and English debtors. Another type of settlers were Indentured Servants.

Major Cities/Ports Baltimore-Maryland Charleston-South Carolina Raleigh-North Carolina Jamestown-Virginia Savannah-Georgia

Topography The land had forests, plains, bays, swamps, and rivers. There was also seashores, and there was very fertile land in the southern colonies.

Climate There was plenty of rain, and hot summers, perfect for farming. Also they had mild winters, witch means longer growing seasons.

Religion There were many types of religions: Quakers Baptists Catholics Anglicans And many more…

Industries/Exports The industries and exports in the Southern Colonies were: Ship building-Ships Tree chopping-Timber Farming-Tobacco, Indigo, and Rice Fishing-Fish
