Good Morning and Welcome 15 June. 2017 Mr. Dinesh Humagain Temporary Staff, RCARO, 2017

Acknowledgement On behalf of Nepal, Ministry of science and technology, and Myself like to give hearty thanks to Director especially, express my appreciation to all the staff of RCA Regional Office and the helpful people of Korea for the overall management and providing this opportunity.

Presentation Outline About the country Nepal Some information about my office My completed task at RCARO Conclusion Some suggestions

About the Nepal Small and Landlocked country Electricity is based on hydropower only Nepal was never colonized Nepal is second rich in water resources after Brazil Nepal is not only made up of mountains Country of Mt Everest and Lord Buddha

About the Nepal High level of Biodiversity 45% forest area and 55% others Economy is based on agriculture More than 80% people are based on agriculture It was kingdom until 2007 High political influence in the development process so that high rate of corruption

About the Ministry of Science and Technology Working as a focal ministry of the IAEA. Smallest Ministry among the ministries. The main objectives of the establishment is to develop in the science and technology sector. Low investment and Less priority is given to the Science and Technology sector by government. Main priorities is given to the formation of policy, plans and regulation. The roll of the Scientists are not recognized by the government.

Some task completed in RCARO Prepared Annual report for the public. Prepared report on website upgrade. Study report on energy planning. Analyzed the RCA websites viewers. Analyzed the Proposal on environment received from the member states.

Some task completed in RCARO Made a list of possible international conferences for the promotion of RCA in 2018. Report on Electron beam technology. Prepared a list of international conference participated till now. Updated the list of participants for the regional training course. Updated the database regional, training and workshops. Added the upcoming events to the RCARO calendar.

Conclusions RCARO has been actively and continuously initiating its own programme and activities to support on the regional problems. Electron beam technology is a new and advanced technology in the field of nuclear science and technology. This fellowship program is an excellent platform to enable sharing of expertise and experiences for a better and balanced global development. The RCARO websites viewers is increasing day by day so it is necessary to take and analyze upon the feedback provided.

Conclusions I understood the RCARO activities and the overall management system of RCARO. The final report is prepared based on work done. This 3 months period has given to me in facilitating the visibility of RCA activities more elaborately. This is a good chance for the under developed country like Nepal to expose and work with foreigner on science and technology. I got an opportunity to study present and the past IAEA and RCA projects more closely. I express my commitment to use this knowledge in development of the RCA project in my own country.

The technical visit to the nuclear-related facilities or institutes should be added in the programme. The participants will gain more knowledge on the development of science and technology in Korea and nuclear and radiation application in peaceful utilization. Continuous cooperative partnership and collaborative efforts is necessary in strengthening the national and regional capacity building in Nuclear Science and Technology in the Asia and pacific region. Suggest temporary staff to read about the RCARO and owns institution for the better understanding before coming to the RCARO. Give an orientation presentation to the temporary staff about the RCARO and its activities at the start of the fellowship program. Suggestions

Suggestions Increase RCARO activities in different thematic sector like poverty, safety and security, livelihood, forestry and other. Continue and strengthen the fellowship program with more facility and equipment. Increase the more project officers with increasing its working sector. Appointing Project Officer from any of the RCA GPs will be a more regional approach and create a more regional image of the RCARO. Evaluate each assigned work immediately; give more and more input to the work done to the temporary staff so that the report will be better.

NAMASTE Thank you BYE BYE Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all. I hope recognizable success in your work, have good job and more salary always and take good care of yourself. Best wishes for you and your family good health and beautiful future. NAMASTE BYE BYE
