Biomes

Biomes outline Definitions: 1. limiting factors 2. zone of tolerance 3. climatogram 4. biome Tundra Taiga/Boreal Forest Temperate Decidious Forest Grassland/ Savanna Desert Tropical Rainforest

LIMITING FACTORS: resource that limits the growth of an organism Ex: rainfall, food ZONE OF TOLERANCE: climate and soil type within which an organism can survive, remember homeostasis!! CLIMATE: determines biome Weather, temp, precipitation, humidity, wind CLIMATOGRAMS: graphs showing temperatures and precipitation of an area

Climatogram

What is a biome? Definition: a distinctive combination of plants (and animals) and climate.

What is a biome? Definition: a distinctive combination of plants (and animals) and climates.

10 minutes with your group: Where is the biome located? What is the climate (hot/cold, rainy/dry, etc)? How do plants here survive (adaptations)? How do animals here survive (adaptations)?

During presentations, write down 3 words to describe each biome!!!
