Summer Workshop 8 sections From Monday to Friday, two first weeks of January 11:30 – 13:00 a.m. Focus on oral production From simple present to conditional tenses

Schedule Who am I? Hobbies and Routine Simple present practice Oral production Closure, a tweet a game.

Who am I? - Teacher will choose to be someone who is very well – known. Students can ask open and close questions until they guess who he/she is.

Hobbies Watch the following video and then discuss questions below with your classmate. Weird Hobbies Do you have any hobbies? Are you planning to have a new hobby? Do you know any strange hobby?

Simple Present Now we have talked about hobbies, can you tell us when do we use simple present? To talk about daily activities or things we do every day. Example: I have breakfast every day. – My sister wakes up at 7 o’clock every Monday.

Simple Present Structure Affirmative Form Subject + Verb + R.O.S ( person, animal, object (rest of the sentence) country, etc.). I practise football every Tuesday from 20.00 to 21.00 p.m. She collects travelling postcards.* We water the garden twice a day.

Simple Present Structure - Remember that when we use the third person singular we must add s – es to the verb. Check and compare: Tatiana practises tennis every Friday and Monday. He works in a bank. John lives very close to the theatre.

Simple Present Structure Don’t Doesn’t In the case of the negative we use the negative words ‘don’t’ and ‘doesn’t’. I don’t speak four languages. Maria doesn’t live in Santiago. They don’t work in a school.

Simple Present Structure Do Does Does the sun circle the Earth? Compare: The Earth circles the sun. What changes do you see? 2. Do you speak Spanish? 3. Do we have a new car?

Activity 1: Find someone who … Walk around the classroom and find someone who : Does not live in Santiago. Knows how to set up a Rubik’s cube. Has an Instagram, Facebook and twitter account. Has a rabbit as a pet. Plays an instrument. Remember to ask questions using do – does. Write down your answers in your notebook and then share with the class.

Activity 3 What do you at the weekend? In your notebook write down your partner’s name and then ask him/her at least five questions about his/her weekend.

Simple Present Practice Check the timetable and add at least 5 activities you do every day. Include time and specific details. When you have completed the timetable write down a short paragraph about your daily hobbies. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

Closure - Write down a tweet summarising what you learnt today. Remember to use 140 characters.
