The Elastizell Advantage For Quality Low Density Insulating Concrete Roof Decks

Presentation Outline What is Elastizell Low Density Insulating Concrete? Elastizell Advantages Wind Uplift and Fire Resistance Approvals Elastizell with Single Ply and Built Up Roof Systems Re-roofing with Elastizell Project Spotlight Pomona College Studio Art Hall San Diego Airport Terminal II Expansion Contact Information

What is Low Density Insulating Concrete ? Low Density Insulating (Cellular) Concrete (or often referred to as Lightweight Insulating Concrete – LWIC) is produced by adding preformed foam to a cement / water slurry The air introduced via the foam, is a non-reactive filler that controls the cast density of the concrete Density may be varied depending on requirements The material is pumped into place and finished slope to drain

Elastizell Low Density Insulating Concrete Roof Decks provide: Positive drainage Wind uplift ratings and fire resistance Sound attenuation Permanent base for built-up and single ply roofing membrane systems Seismic values

Low Density Insulating Concrete

Elastizell Low Density Insulating Concrete Roof Decks Elastizell can be cast over concrete (precast or cast-in-place), galvanized steel and wood deck substrates When combined with EPS, Elastizell Low Density Insulating Concrete Roof Decks have advantages over other roofing systems

Elastizell Advantages: Positive drainage – customized slope to drain Fire resistance Sound attenuation Thermal insulation Seismic Permanent solid base for built-up systems or single ply membranes

Combine with EPS Insulation Board for Increased Insulation High EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) insulation values (R = 4.0/inch) Less dead weight – these systems typically weigh only 6-8 psf Stair-stepped EPS board and top with Elastizell insulating concrete for slope-to-drain

Elastizell Roof Decks Are: Permanent Insulative Nailable Approved Economical Moisture resistant Wind uplift resistant Sloped to drain Strong Dimensionally Stable Non-combustible

Physical Properties

Elastizell cast Slope to Drain

NRCA: Ideal Roof Insulation: Strong and impact resistant Resists deterioration Moisture resistant High R value System Constant insulation value Provides secure attachment Dimensionally stable Compatible with the roof membrane

Wind Uplift Approvals FM – ratings from 1-60 to 1-540 UL – Class 90 FM Class I, Non-combustible FM SH (Severe Hail) rated Numerous Miami-Dade (FL) and Florida Building Code approvals with a variety of membrane types and manufacturers www.Elastizell.com/roofapprovals for full list of approvals
