1. Renaissance The revival of European art and literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th-16th centuries.

2. Johannes Gutenberg A German blacksmith who introduced printing in Europe with his invention of the printing press.

3. Reformation a 16th-century movement for the reform of abuses in the Roman Catholic Church ending in the establishment of the Reformed and Protestant Churches.

A member of a church that followed the ideals of Martin Luther. 4. Protestant A member of a church that followed the ideals of Martin Luther.

5. Martin Luther A German theologian credited with beginning the Protestant Reformation. He wrote the “95 Theses”.

7. Henry VIII The King of England who created the Protestant Church of England (the English Reformation). He is also known for having 6 wives.
