A Quick Review of the Rotary Foundation Grant Models Annual Program Fund Share Model 3 Years, 50% DDF, 50% World Fund (less 5% cost escrow) Money For Local Projects 50% of DDF (cash) available for District Grants Simplified Grant Processing Online processing Global and District Grants Global Grants are Large Projects – Sustainable $125K Maximum Global Grant Match Increased to $200K $30K Minimum Project Size ($15K global grant minimum) 50% of DDF (credits) available to partner with Clubs Significant Club and District Responsibility Stewardship and Record Keeping

In Real Terms…. District Grants are used for your community based projects (min budget $1K) Global Grants are funds those used for your international projects (min budget $30K) The District will have about $110,000 for District Grants and $110,000 for Global Grants assistance in 2016-17

Club Qualification Attend the District Grant Management Seminar Submit a signed MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to the District Chair - Me Prior Grants Completed or Current Club is in Good Standing with RI and the District, RI and District dues current and timely Annual Programs Fund contribution to The Rotary Foundation for 2015-16 at a minimum of $100.00 per capita. President Elect or Club Representative attended 2016 PETS – or was excused by and received training approved by the Governor.

Same thing for District Grants, plus retention of required documents (Application and Final Report w/receipts) Every Club should get this done by June 1

District Grants Clubs Should Apply by June 1, 2016. Club applications drive the District Spending Plan Clubs May Apply For Up To $5,000.00 in DDF Match, but requests cannot exceed 50% of the per project budget. Dictionary Project as currently accepted does not apply against the club limit or qualification requirements. $500.00 minimum grant request. Total District Grants funding cannot exceed 50% of the club’s (club members) giving to the APF 2015/16.

Approval of District Grants District Grants (SHARE) Committee District TRF Chair District Grants Chair (non-voting) Governor Corps (DG, DGE, DGN) Representatives from the top two giving clubs, and the top three per capita giving clubs, to the Annual Programs Fund. Total 10 members, 9 voting

Approval of District Grants Per Batch Priority One Dictionary Projects, as currently accepted, will be approved prior to any other application provided the application is received by June 1, 2016, provided the club has current MOU on file with the District. Priority Two Eligible project requests jointly made by multiple clubs. Maximum of $2,500 per participating club, or the lesser of club maximum, if applicable. Priority Three Eligible non-literacy projects up to the remaining amount of club cap. Priority Four All other eligible project requests as determined by the SHARE committee.

Criteria That May Be Used Has the Club met the qualification criteria? If applications exceed available funds: The Grant Committee will decide what to do and may apply criteria not otherwise used Does the project fit into one of the six areas of focus? Is the project sustainable?

Global Grants Global Grants can be applied for on an ongoing basis. In order to qualify for a Global Grant, a project must have a minimum budget of $30,000.00 The District will match club donation to TRF Annual Programs Fund dollar for dollar, up to $15,000.00 while DDF Credits last.

Grant Funding Example Funding the minimum project of $30K Club(s) contribute $15K to TRF Annual Programs Fund District contributes $15,000 / TRF matches $15,000 = $30K Total Budget of $30K reached For a non-District DDF funded project, Club funds matched 50 cents on the dollar, so minimum project is affect is $45,000

Getting Approval for DDF Complete the online application Save the DRAFT grant and email to the Global Grants Chair, Jeff . Jeff will review the application to confirm its eligibility and offer suggestions for improvement. He will also confirm that DDF is available for this project on a “hold” basis. After receiving confirmation of DDF from Jeff, the application can be completed and appropriately submitted

What You Need to Know About The Global Grant Application Under the Authorization Tab there is a check box to signify the grant application is complete. Do not check that until you are sure because the application cannot be edited after. Checking that box automatically notifies the District that there is a grant application waiting to be authorized.
