Getting Started

Why do I use Account Schedules? Direct tie-in to the General Ledger Customized Financials Integrate with Budgets Dimension filtering Download well to Excel Build them myself! Comes with NAV

A word about BI/Reporting and Add Ons Am I anti add on? No! I’m just PRO account schedule! I know that many companies don’t have the money or expertise to implement an add on BI/Reporting solution that will be more robust than Account Schedules. Many companies need these types of solutions in order to enhance their reporting in areas other than in financial reporting. However, in the area of financial reporting, I believe that companies can get what they need through account schedules.

Top 10 Extra Tips for Account Schedules If you add an account, go back to add to your account schedules. When in doubt, view the NAV canned trial balance – this is always right. Always add a default column layout to your schedules. Do the same for analysis views. Group row numbers instead of making them unique for easier formula generation. You can copy and paste any design or layout directly to Excel for easy review. Create a copy of an existing account schedule to make changes. Other features like rounding and underlining only work when printing, not viewing or exporting. Dealing with zeros can be done when printing using “Show if any Column not Zero” or using Excel, but not on screen. Create a presentation page and a data page for your Excel export of a schedule.

What else can you do? Statement of Cash Flows Team or Project Budget Reports Sales of Product Groupings Gross Margin including percentage of sales calculations Gross to Net Sales walk forward (GL accounts in columns) Sales every day of the month Consolidated financial statements using Business Units Ratios Statistical Accounts Audit Lead Schedules
