Surrey is situated 40 km east of Vancouver Surrey is situated 40 km east of Vancouver. It is the 2nd largest city in British Columbia, behind Vancouver, with a population over 500,000 people. We average 7 snowy days as compared to 170 rainy days. Our average snowfall per year is 38 cm or 15 inches. In Canada we don’t get a lot of snow. once in a while we get a bit of snow.
