BD Service Projects January 16 – January 27 Regis Jesuit High School Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam

“Today our prime educational objective must be to form men Mission “Today our prime educational objective must be to form men and women…who cannot even conceive of love of God which does not include love of the least of their neighbors.” Pedro Arrupe

Mission It’s about RELATIONSHIPS with people whom our society rejects or marginalizes.

Goals Broaden your experience of the world Begin to discern your place in the world Discover your talents and push your limits Grow in compassion for others in need, receiving their gifts and sharing yours

Solidarity If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is tied up with mine, then let us work together. Lilla Watson

Before Registration 1) Download Service Project Handbook 2) Think about Time Commitments – Practice, Siblings, Work, etc. 3) Figure Out Carpooling Options 4) Talk with your Parents/Guardians

Registration Process When registration opens for your class, Mr. Mattacchione will email your student email and put announcements on at school. You will have one school week to pick your TOP 7 sites. Registration will be done electronically through the RJ website. For the process of assigning sites, students will be randomly ordered electronically. The first student up in the random order will have his choices considered first and so forth. When your number is up, priority for selection will be given to your first choice. If that site is full, your second choice will be granted. If that site if full, your third will be selected and so forth. Consideration will be given to significant issues of transportation and location based on the rationale you provide during the registration.
