About Me... Excited to be teaching Math 6A B.S. Degree in Mathematics from UC Irvine Masters of Arts in Teaching Logic Puzzles & to help my students develop their critical thinking and communicate

Advanced Pace Covering 1.5 years of material into 1 year

Progression Math 6A – Math 7A – Algebra 1 85% overall grade 90% average on tests/quizzes

Quizzes and Tests For quizzes/tests: These will also always be announced ahead of time and will always occur at the end of each unit of study Review documents /study guides will always be given prior to the test so that you can study Students will have an opportunity to correct mistakes and retake a test Can only earn back at most 75% though, so there is a reason to study for the 1st time around!

Grades! Homework, Classwork, participation is worth 25% Tests/Quizzes 75%

Absent/Late Homework Absent HW: Students will have as many school days as absences to make up HW for full credit Otherwise the HW will be considered late Late HW: Assignment(s) considered late will be awarded partial (half) credit if turned in late

Tutoring If your child needs extra help with math, I will be available for tutoring after school until 3:15 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Recommended Supplies Several sharpened pencils with erasers 2-3 pens for correcting 1-2 highlighters for note taking Lined notebook paper Graph paper Colored pencils Ruler 3-ring binder or a section in larger binder

Please help me foster growth in our young mathematicians by: 1. Do not just give the answers 2. Asking them to make estimations 3. Asking them to help you calculate something 4. Asking them: What do you notice? What do you think? How do you know? 5. Not saying, “I was never good at math.”
